Is the audio uploaded to view the waveform?

No. The file is decoded by your browser and drawn in the page. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored, so unreleased material is safe to open here.

How do I see a waveform without opening a DAW?

Drop the file in. You get the full waveform immediately, with zoom, scroll and click-to-seek playback — enough to check a fade, find a transient or confirm where silence starts.

Why does the waveform look different from my DAW?

Because it is a min/max envelope drawn at screen resolution, not sample-accurate at every zoom level. The shape is accurate; individual sample values at high zoom are not the point of the view.

What file types can I open?

Anything your browser can decode: WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF, M4A, OGG and Opus in most browsers. Very large files are limited to 250 MB so the tab stays responsive.

The drawing is a min/max envelope of every sample in the visible window, which is how a DAW draws overviews too. Zoom narrows the window rather than resampling, so the shape stays faithful to what is in the file.
