How this works
Let us be blunt about what this does. Converting MP3 to WAV cannot recover detail the MP3 encoder discarded — that information no longer exists in the file. What it does is stop the damage from compounding.
That is worth doing whenever the audio has work ahead of it. Editing, time-stretching, EQ-ing or re-exporting a lossy file and then saving it as MP3 again puts it through a second encode, and those artefacts stack. Decode once to WAV, do the work, encode at the end.
The same reasoning applies to training material in ANYANO: give a Sound the cleanest version of your music you have. If a WAV master exists, use it rather than a converted MP3.
