How this works
Silence removal is a level decision, not a musical one. The file is measured in short windows, quiet windows are marked, and only runs longer than your minimum gap get cut. That distinction matters: a 200 ms gap between words is phrasing, a four second gap between takes is dead air.
Padding is the part most tools get wrong. Cutting exactly where the level crosses the threshold removes the attack of the next note and the tail of the previous one, so this tool keeps a configurable margin either side and crossfades every join.
This is the fastest way to tidy raw material before you prepare it as training data in ANYANO: a dataset of clean, dense audio teaches a Sound more than the same files padded with silence.
