How this works
Looping is arithmetic when the source is clean: the samples are copied end to end, so a bar-accurate loop repeated sixteen times is sample-accurate for sixteen bars. That is why the crossfade defaults to zero here — anything above it changes the timing.
Crossfades earn their place on material with no obvious edit point: room tone, pads, noise beds, field recordings. An equal-power fade keeps the perceived level steady through the join instead of dipping in the middle.
If a loop clicks at the join with the crossfade off, the problem is the loop's end point, not the looper. Trim it to a bar boundary with the Audio Trimmer and try again.
