How this works

"Energy" is not a physical quantity, so any single number for it is a construction. The honest approach is to say exactly how it was built: this tool averages integrated loudness (−30 to −6 LUFS), rhythmic activity (onsets per second, 0.5 to 6), spectral activity (share of energy above 1.2 kHz) and density (peak-to-loudness ratio, inverted).

Deliberately, loudness is only a quarter of it. Mapping LUFS to energy would mean a limited ambient master outranks an unlimited breakbeat, which nobody hearing them would accept. Rhythm and spectral content are measured separately so they can move the result.

Use it to compare your own material — versions of a mix, tracks being sequenced for an EP, or reference tracks you want to sit alongside. It is a description, not a grade.
